About Us
Purpose:
- To help foreign English pastors receive support, resources and opportunities where it may be absent in a foreign land.
- To help Korean English pastors receive support and prepare them for foreign missions, or continued work in Korea.
- To help English pastors, whether foreigner or Korean, to come together in unity and network together for the glory of God.
Recognition:
We are interdenominational and recognize the distinctiveness of each congregation and their unique significance and role in the greater Body of Christ. We maintain theological unity on the essentials of biblical doctrine. We recognize the Biblical qualifications of each pastor laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. and desire to encourage those who are called to pastor rather than put more obsticles in their way. "for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom" - 2 Corinthians 3:17.
One body, one faith:
For every English pastor from all over the world who are now living in Korea to be united in Christ for the glory of God.
"to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" - Ephesians 4:1-6.
Christianity is built primarily on two foundations: Jesus is God and the inerrancy of the Bible. We are encouraged to be at peace with all men, even with those who have different beliefs. But the Bible also encourages us to boldly and confidently present a scriptural basis for truth and compare differences…to be peacemakers but not religious negotiators. We can be united if we stand on these foundational truths.
The Inerrancy of Scripture.
-
Historical Christianity is built on the written word of God alone. The Protestant Reformation set the world ablaze with a hunger to return to the word of God. Many who challenged Rome were killed because of this. The Bible is our infallible rule of faith, being sufficient to give us the sure knowledge of the Gospel: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” - 2 Timothy 3:16. We cannot add or subtract.
Redemption Through Christ Alone.
-
Historical Christianity teaches that Mary is highly favored, but not free from sin. She does not play a role in redemption. Any time we minimize Christ we are on very dangerous ground. Historical Christianity believes that Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). He is not a “god”; He is God. We are totally forgiven when we repent and confess Christ as Lord. No punishment remains (Romans 3:24-25). God the Father was never like us and we will never be like Him. This dangerous view exalts man. If a person claims that a “messenger of light” appeared to them with new truth, we should point them to Paul’s words, “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed” - Galatians 1:8.
The simplicity in Christ.
Christ is the only Head of the Church. We do not need an additional mediator or priest; Jesus is our mediator and Priest (Hebrews 4:15). We do not need to belong to any Church, Denomination or Society, to be saved. Again, salvation comes through Christ alone: ”For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” - Ephesians 2:8.
We can stand before God because our sin debt is paid in full…no intercessors, mediators, penance, or works can add to Christ’s finished work on the Cross. Therefore, no matter what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow, if you confess Christ and believe then you can be rest assured that you are saved right now and secure in Christ. Romans 10:9 states, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”.
